Watching someone argue with themselves, as regular public transport users know, is usually an uncomfortable experience, but in the hands of Melbourne writer and performer Xavier Michelides it becomes a sublimely funny experience.
Michelides plays every character in this sci-fi epic, from our hapless heroes, Zach and Brad; through to the evil boss of MagnaCorp, the company which offers people from the past the opportunity to work in the future because of under-employment in the year 2347.
Featuring guest appearances from Jack the Ripper, Thomas Edison, Queen Victoria and Marie Antoinette - all played by Michelides - this madcap comedy rattles along at a cracking pace which slows only slightly in the final act, as the various plot threads are drawn together.
From meta-jokes about one-man shows through to gags about the dangers of employing robots, Michelides' performance is consistently and delightfully entertaining.
