From the Accademia Carrara, Bergamo comes a trove of 15th and 16th Century Italian paintings. Among their laudable number, you’ll find Raphael and Titian. And, did we mention Botticelli? But, in their eagerness to edify us all, the NGA includes lesser-known examples of the era from Carpaccio, Perugino and Moroni.
Canberrans know well of the NGA crush. You might wish to consider the purchase of a premium ticket which allows early viewing on weekend mornings. Religious oils are so much prettier when not surrounded by a throng.
Otherwise, buckle in for the rewards of this marquee event.
