Queen Of Colour
Editorial
When: Performances Saturday 11-18 July at 10am and 12.30pm, excluding Monday 13 July.
Experience a kaleidoscope of wonder as the whimsical story of a lonely Queen unleashes a world of creativity and colour.
Based on the children's book by German author Jutta Bauer, a young Queen lives alone in her castle, but becomes increasingly bored with her purely black and white world. To ease her boredom, the court painter and court musician magically bring colour and adventure to her life. But when the colours take over, a live cartoon is created before the audience's eyes unleashing a world of creativity and colour.
Named best children's show and best set at the World Festival of Puppet Art in 2002, The Queen of Colours is a pageant of shadow puppetry, projections, music and live paintings that literally jump from the page.
