While best known as one of the co-founders of Cubism, the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso was a juggernaut of creativity whose prodigious output refused to be tied down to a single style or medium.
A child prodigy whose passion and skill for drawing was obvious from an early age, Picasso's creative output was constantly evolving; from the sombre and serious works of his early Blue Period, through to his incorporation of collage into the paintings of his Cubist phase, and the abstract and dynamic sculptures he created later in life.
Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso presents iconic works from virtually every phase of Picasso's legendary career, documenting the full range of his unceasing inventiveness and creativity.
Drawn from the collection of the Musée National Picasso in Paris - the largest and most important repository of the artist's work in the world - the exhibition features more than 200 extraordinary paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, and photographs. This unprecedented opportunity is possible only because the Musée Picasso has recently closed for renovations, allowing a global tour of this full-scale survey to travel for the first and, very likely, the only time.
Don't miss this remarkable opportunity to view the works of one of the true geniuses of the art world, when Picasso comes to Sydney.
