Pendulum
Editorial
Pendulum's '07 debut, Hold Your Colour, is one of the biggest selling drum'n'bass albums of all time. Given the band are all Perth ex-pats living in the UK, that's no mean feat. But there's the rub; since relocating to the UK, the group has consistently shown the locals how to do it. Whether you're talking live shows, artist albums or remixes, Pendulum have consistently been a step ahead of everyone else.
Speaking of remixes, the group were behind the monster remix of Voodoo People by The Prodigy. Released in '07, it reached number 20 on the UK singles chart and was in constant rotation on Australia's Triple J. The group's original tracks have performed just as well; both Tarantula and Granite became radio staples and did well in the charts.
In Silico, the group's second album, was released in 2008. While the drum'n'bass elements were largely removed, the band's mix of stadium rock and electronica saw them hit the UK charts with tracks like Propane Nightmares and The Other Side. Having criss-crossed their adopted home in support , the group are now back in Australia, turning their speaker stacks up to 11 and rocking out like a bunch of guys raised on 1980's hair metal.
