Fedde Le Grand finally finds time in his schedule to return to Australia.

Editorial

Fedde Le Grand is one of the most recognised names in dance music. The Dutch DJ/producer scored one of the biggest club hits in years with Put Your Hand Up For Detroit and has been on a roll ever since. The last 12 months alone have seen him pop up on countless mix CDs, release his own compilation (or two), take up a residency at Pacha in Ibiza and headline some of the biggest festivals around.

Le Grand has been producing since 2001 and spent time before that DJing and prompting clubs. He started Flamingo Records in 2004 (a partnership with Funkerman) and the two have used the label to issue whatever kind of music they see fit. At the same time, they've partnered with both Defected and Ministry of Sound in taking their more mainstream material to international audiences. It's a good system and it allows Le Grand to release underground material alongside the blockbusters.

Of course, when he's playing the peak-time set at some far-flung nightclub, all the crowd care about are those hands-in-the-air moments. Le Grand has that covered, both with his own material and the tracks he hauls around the world.
