One Starry Night: An Evening With Julio Iglesias
Editorial
Julio Iglesias is not only one of the successful crooners of the last century, he's one of the best-selling artists of all time. Since launching his career in 1968, the Spanish singer has released 77 records across 14 different languages. In the process, he's sold a staggering 300 million records. While he's led a charmed life, things could have taken a very different path. A young Iglesias studied law and was a goalkeeper for the famous Real Madrid football club until a car accident sidelined his sports career. Turning to music, he found early success with the Eurovision song contest and was subsequently popular throughout Europe in the '70s. Relocating to the US in 1979, he began to release albums across multiple languages (Spanish, Italian, German, English, French and more), and international sales went through the roof.
Although it's been four years since his last English language album, 2006's Romantic Classes, Iglesias has four decades of romance to his name and a back catalogue that screams roses and chocolates. With a live show to match, it's little wonder he's one of the world's most successful singers.
