Nick Lowe
Nick Lowe
Editorial
Nick Lowe would be legend enough if all he’d done was produce those brilliant first five Elvis Costello albums, not to mention the punk-defining debut Damned single. But the man’s a songwriter too, penning the classic Costello anthem (What's So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding and a whole catalogue of gems just as precious. His beloved 1979 solo album Labour of Lust just saw reissue this year, and Lowe followed it up with a new one called The Old Magic, proving the 62-year-old still has a firm grasp on world-wise pop. He returns to Australia fully energised and backed by a crack four-piece band.
