With the tidal wave of re-examination cresting just in time for this month’s 20th anniversary Nevermind reissue, it’s a perfect time to kneel and kiss the ground Mudhoney walks on as well. The Seattle grunge icons helped shaped Nirvana’s rise and made their own cataclysmic entrance with the immortal Superfuzz Bigmuff EP. The band’s been on the quiet side since their ’90s heyday, but 2008’s The Lucky Ones was damn solid. The sheer onslaught of the best Mudhoney songs continues to pick up new generations of fans, and the band’s stop at Meredith is a match made in scruffy heaven.
