Henri Matisse was a busy bugger. When he wasn’t occupied redefining the Twentieth Century, he was creating costumes and sculpture.

The exacting training of a draughtsman informed even his most apparently chaotic stroke and in these works on paper we can see his mastery of the visual form.

Curated from a range of colelctions by Céline Chicha-Castex, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Prints, Bibliothèque nationale de France, and Paris curator Emilie Ovaere-Corthay, this exhibition helps us focus on the man’s fine form.

This is one of several special events marking glorious GoMA’s fifth birthday.
