Marilyn Manson certainly appreciates the power of controversy. Since launching his career in 1989 with Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids, he's kept a generation of self-appointed moral guardians in business. He's also released several albums and created one of the most extravagant characters in modern rock. 1994's Portrait of an American Family (produced by Trent Reznor) introduced Manson and his horror/rock/industrial sound to US audiences. The follow-up, Smells Like Children, spawned the group's first hit single - Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This), a cover of the 1983 Eurythmics hit.

Since then, Manson has generated as much coverage for his freakshow stage persona and outfits as he has for the band's music output. Apparently that suits him just fine; behind all the smeared make-up and contact lenses he's actually remarkably thoughtful and intelligent, something he's happy to wield when the media come-a-calling.

Two years since he lasted visited our shores to promote Eat Me, Drink Me, Manson is now back for another round with the tabloids. And he's got a new album out as well, The High End of Low, which fans can revel in live at the show. Manson's performances have always been as spectacular as they are controversial, and that's not expected to change on this tour.
