Now this makes more sense! After separating the world-famous Mardi Gras Parade and Party and having them on different weekends last year, in 2011, the party is following the parade again - and it's promising to be one hot night of Mardi Gras fun!

Alongside a host of Sydney and Melbourne's best DJs, including Murray Hood, Kate Monroe, Kam Shafaati, DJ Feisty, DJ Sveta, DJ Baby Bear, Matt Vaughan and Mark Murphy, there's some pretty big international names on the decks too. How does the Godfather of House, Frankie Knuckles hit you? Or Tel Aviv's Yinon Yahel? Or Francisco Guerra, funnily enough from San Francisco? Or electro maestro Calvin Harris from the UK? And they're just the DJs - they haven't even started announcing performers yet!

Bob Downe will get things off to a silly start with his All-Star Retro-Gras, full of crazy retro tracks and drag queen aplenty.

For all the shows and hands-in-the-air dance tracks, head to the RHI, while the Hordern is where Calvin Harris and progressive electro and house music will be thumping. Listen out for tribal and retro beats from other halls such as the Dome.

But let's be honest, the Party's all about the crowd: their sexiness, their shimmer, their hot dance moves - there's enough going on around you - great music and live acts are the added bonus!
