Katy Perry: Hello Katy Tour

Katy Perry is back out this way, promoting her latest single, Waking up in Vegas.

Editorial

With the hit singles coming thick and fast, Katy Perry is back in Australia. I Kissed a Girl may have brought her to international attention, but she's since topped the charts with follow-ups like Hot n Cold, Ur So Gay and her latest, Waking up in Vegas.

While the hit singles and colourful wardrobe have made Perry an industry favourite, her scrapes with fellow pop stars have assured her presence in gossip columns. Perry made headlines last year when she mentioned she was a "skinnier version" of Lilly Allen. You can imagine how well that comment went down with Allen. Apparently there's also no love loss between Perry and Lady GaGa.

In the immortal words of Christopher Lambert in Highlander, "there can be only one" - that's as true for immortal swordsman in schlocky movies as it is for the new generation of pop stars. With sales of her debut LP, One of the Boys, topping two million and a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Perry seems to be leading the charge. And there's nothing like a whirlwind tour to keep the momentum going.
