Editorial

CitySearch (CS): You are giving your time to sing at the Light the Night charity concert. What motivated you in your already gruelling schedule?

Lucy Durack (LD): I have performed in Light the Night every year of its existence - it is not only a worthy cause, but I knew Matt Rennie personally. In his honour and in the honour of all who have battled so hard with leukaemia I think the least I can do is sing in a gorgeous big concert!

CS: How has the Wicked experience been for you so far?

LD: Quite incredible - playing Glinda the Good Witch is literally a dream come true for me. Not only is it a wonderful job on its own to perform in my favourite musical to packed houses every night, but the perks - such as singing the anthem at the AFL grand final - have been out of this world!

CS: It seems like you have a great time on stage ... does it become like a 'job' or do you always enjoy it?

LD: Sometimes I have to be mindful during my 'down time' of actually resting so I have enough energy for the shows, but apart from that, I don't really think of it as a 'job' in the mundane sense of the word at all - I really do always enjoy it.
