Ibiza NYE
Editorial
If you're going to watch the fireworks on New Year's Eve, then you may as well have a good view. Cruise, at Circular Quay, certainly has that angle covered; the restaurant/bar is right alongside the Sydney harbour and offers sweeping views of both the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.
Still, a great location is only half the battle. It's not much use without accompanying entertainment. Looking after that side of things is the UK's Alan Thompson. A DJ for more than a decade, he's a regular at Ministry of Sound's original London club and has released mix CDs for MOS, Trade and DTPM. Joining him on the night are local favourites Trent Rackus and Cadell. Both guys can be found behind the decks at Chinese Laundry on a regular basis and playing the kind of parties that actually count.
With both levels of Cruise open (including the Paris Champagne Lounge) and a backroom lounge, there's plenty of space to sip cocktails, enjoy the music and do the whole New Year's Eve thing in style. Keep your eyes closed long enough and its almost like being in Ibiza.
