A different kind of country music festival.

***Line-up (in alphabetical order) - AC Slater (USA); Art Vs Science; Architecture in Helsinki; The Ashton Shuffle; Birds of Tokyo; Bliss N Esso; Cut Copy; Darwin Deez (USA); Datarock (NOR); DRAPHT; The Drums (USA); Gotye; The Go! Team (UK); Gyroscope; The Holidays; Horrorshow; House of Pain (USA); The Jezabels; Nina Las Vegas; Sampology; Unkle (UK); Washington; The Wombats (UK).

Here's a lil' story bout two men named Rod & Steve, talking at a party and drinkin' heavily… wishin' there was a festival they could go to… then out from their heads popped Groovin' The Moo… (Festival that is, for music folk out in the country).

Since those two boys' decision to set up a festival for regional music lovers in 2005, Groovin' The Moo has quickly developed into a worthy contender to rival some of the other big national tours. Starting in Townsville, The Moo now spreads the cud through Bunbury in WA, Bendigo in VIC, Maitland in NSW and Canberra in the ACT (which can be forgiven for being a capital, because let's face it, most capitals think of it as a country anyway).

Traditionally the festival has featured home-grown heroes like Silverchair, Empire Of The Sun, Lisa Mitchell, Grinspoon, Screaming Jets, The Living End, Sneaky Sound System and The Presets. However, The Moo is now showing those city-slickers it can grab some international headliners to boot; 2010 undoubtedly a benchmark year for the burgeoning festival featuring Tegan & Sara, Vampire Weekend and Spoon. So load up the wagon, pull on some gumboots and hitch your Gran to the roof because 2011's Groovin' The Moo looks like one worth getting out of town for. Yeehaw!

Hey Sam, GTM is not coming to Adelaide this year sadly, so your closest one would be either Bendigo, VIC or Bunbury in WA.
