And what better way to experience the enduringly popular music and magic of Mozart than in the midst of the Yarra Valley, sipping locally grown wine and nibbling gourmet treats as superb performers in period costume bring his timeless works to life?

Presented at Balgownie Estate - famed for its long lived Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz - the Good Weekend Opera in the Vineyards 2010 will explore Mozart's life and times as well as his enchanting and unforgettable music.

Sit back under the grand marquee, as some of the finest singers and musicians in the country, including Lorina Gore, Tarita Carbo, Sally-Anne Russell, and Joshua Bloom - accompanied by piano and strings - perform some of Mozart's best known and most enduring works. This magical evening will also see the welcome return of maestro Brian Castles-Onion, who will conduct and compere proceedings in his own inimitable style.
