George Michael Live in Australia!

events|george%20michael%20live%20in%20australia!
George Michael is heading Australia's way in February 2010 for two very special stadium concerts. Be there!

Editorial

George Michael is returning to Australia in February 2010! Last here in 1988 with his Faith tour, Michael has announced two shows … hang on, make that three shows, in Sydney, Perth and now Melbourne. Dates were originally only for Sydney and Perth as Melbourne's stadiums were already committed to sporting events, but the deal makers have come up with a solution and Melbourne is now on the Michael map. All Michael's big tunes from his solo and Wham! careers are promised for this stadium tour - don't be slow getting tickets if you want to be there.

It was as head talent of '80s British pop group Wham! (alongside whatshisname … Andrew Ridgeley) that George Michael (or Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou to his mum) first emerged. Wearing a Choose Life T-shirt and sparking trends in up-beat pop and fluorescent socks, hits for the group include Wake Me Up before You Go-Go, Freedom and Careless Whisper. Splitting in '86 for a solo career, Michael has since churned out oodles of toe tappers including Faith, I Knew You Were Waiting (with Aretha Franklin), Father Figure, Too Funky, Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me (with Elton John), I Want Your Sex

Other memorable exploits for Michael have been slightly less glamorous, such as numerous car crashes while rumoured to be loaded, and an arrest in 1998 for 'engaging in a lewd act' in a public toilet in Beverly Hills, with a cop.

George Michael 2010 Tour Dates
Saturday, 20 February - Perth
Friday, 26 February - Sydney
Wednesday, 3 March - Melbourne

Tickets on sale Tuesday, 8 December (Sydney and Perth) and Wednesday, 16 December (Melbourne) at 9am from Ticketmaster (Perth, Melbourne) and Ticketek (Sydney).

I WENT TO GEORGE MICHEAL CONCERT LAST NIGHT, NOTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT IT. SIDE SCREENS DIDNT WORK MOST OF THE NIGHT, DIDNT SING MOST POPULAR SONGS, COULD SEE BAND OR BACK UP SINGERS, DUE TO BAD LIGHTING AND STAGE CONFIGURATION, THEN AN INTERVAL (WHY), AND NOT TO MENTION COST. ENTERTAINMENT NOT!!!! GIVE PINK CONCERT A LOOK

Went to the concert in Perth and how happy I was to attend! It was AMAZING, George was great, great singing and dancing, even my boyfriend who is not a fan stood up and joined in the dancing. What a lovely evening it was! George's still got it!

Had great time at concert, but have to agree that the stage theatrics could def been better. He started very late and finished quite early considering the length of the intermission and sadly he didn't play a lot of his most popular songs which was very disapointing. Despite this, a great time was still had by all. Would see him again but not at that price I'm afraid.

VIP tickets what a joke we thought at that price we would have been a bit closer to the stage, still George didn't disappoint!Great concert would diffently see him again but agreeing with Renee not at that price!

Went to his Sydney concert last night and it was AMAZING! His voice is still, pure and pristine, so, professional, such a talent, worth every cent! I say if you have the chance go and see George Michael, that's what real live singing is all about.

While his voice was great we had relatively average tickets and acoustics, be it because of the venue or technical issues were very average. Mid Range sounds were very hard to pick up (including in many songs his voice). Can’t criticise his effort – he clearly still has it,just let down a bit by the sound quality
