George Michael Can't Drive

George Michael has claimed he was "stone, cold sober" during his most recent car crash. Apparently he's just a rubbish driver.

Editorial

George Michael has been at it again; crashing his car in the early hours, getting arrested and generally acting suspicious. The singer was involved in an early hour's crash with a lorry last week. Police showed up on the scene and took the singer in for questioning, but released him without charge a few hours later. Apparently they wanted "a chat" following suspicion of drug and/or alcohol use.

Despite all this, 46-year-old Michael has sworn he was "stone-cold sober" at the time of the crash. He's since released a statement, adding, "Neither of us [the other driver] was charged because we were both stone cold sober. We both think the other is to blame, so this is just an insurance fight. I don't want my fans or my family worried by what they are reading all over again".

All over again? Ahh, that's right. Michael has a history of poor driving and unfortunate police encounters. Two years ago he was banned from driving for 24 months, after ploughing into several parked cars while loaded. Before that, he was cautioned by police twice for falling asleep at the wheel of his car after, apparently, smoking the cannabis he had lying around. Maybe he's just a really bad driver? That's for his insurance company to decide.
