George Michael
Editorial
Time to dig out the shoulder pads and hair spray, '80s music icon George Michael is back in Australia. One of the highest selling acts of the last last 25 years, the British singer has amassed six number one albums, sold over 100 million records and won two Grammys. He's also enjoyed his share of controversy.
Those born in the '60s and '70s may remember Michael as the frontman of Wham! Although they became known for their bright fashion sense, it was catchy tracks like Careless Whisper and Wake Me Up Before You Go Go that propelled the duo to fame. They even did their bit for international politics, creating history in 1985 when they became the first western act to perform in China. Although the group broke up in 1986 (and 72,000 tearful fans attended their farewell concert), Michael went on to forge a hugely successful solo career. Starting with 1987's Faith, he continued to top the charts for a further decade, releasing five studio albums and securing his place in pop history.
The current tour is Michael's first visit to Australian shores in 22 years and he's promising a collection of both solo hits and tracks from his Wham! Days.

Gorgeous man, gorgeous voice, couldn't ask for more from a live concert. I laughed, I cried, I danced! His Sydney concert was simply wonderful
