If you are in the mood for camping it up and casting a rainbow hue over your weekend then Flamingos is the place to be on Friday and Saturday nights. DJ’s play dance floor fillers over two floors from 10pm until the wee small hours, interrupted only to present regular shows by Fantasia and the Flamingo Dancers. Gay dance bars tend to attract a melting pot of alternative sub-cultures – gay, straight, boy, girl or otherwise but the dominant species at Flamingos can be best recognised by their tight-fitting mid-rift tops and high heels (and that’s just the boys). Be prepared for a lot ‘hands in the air’ action.
