Erykah Badu has been charged with disorderly conduct after stripping naked on a public street. The soul singer was shooting a videoclip for her new single, Window Seat, at the time. Walking down Dealey Plaza in Dallas, the video has Badu tracing the steps of President John F Kennedy's motorcade prior to his assassination. She gradually sheds her clothes before collapsing, pretending to be shot. As Badu explained via her Twitter, she "shot guerrilla style, no crew, one take, no closed set, no warning, two min., Downtown Dallas, then ran like hell".

But it turns out some members of the public don't appreciate public nudity and Badu has now been charged with disorderly conduct following a sworn statement from a 32-year-old female. "Having a fact witness that was there is what let us file the charges," explained Sergeant Mitchell of the Dallas Police. "After much discussion we feel that these charges best fit her conduct. She disrobed in a public place, without regard to individuals and small children who were close by," he states. She is expected to receive a $500 fine.

Badu's new album, New Amerykah Part II - Return of the Ankh, has won widespread critical appeal. It's the platinum-selling singer's fifth LP since her debut in 1997. We're sure this incident will help sales along just nicely.
