Eminem Breaks Records
Editorial
Crack a Bottle, Eminem's comeback single, has broken every record, ever. Well, the record for opening week download sales in the US, anyway. The song, which is currently at number one on Billboard's Hot 100, sold 418,000 copies online in its first week. So far that puts the song third on the list of all-time best-selling download singles in the US. Lady GaGa's Just Dance (419,000) and Flo Rida's Low (467,000) currently hold the top two positions. That said, both those singles have had months of online sales. At the current rate of download sales, Eminem should hold the number one all-time slot by the time you read this.
Oh, and if you're interested, the previous one-week record was for Live Your Life by T.I. and Rihanna, which clocked up 335,000 download sales in one week.
Talking about Eminem's new album last month, 50 Cent said it was two weeks away. That may have been a little optimistic, but it looks like the new album, Relapse, is going to show up sooner rather than later. It's Eminem's first album since 2004's Encore.
