Dino's Deli
Editorial
Dino's sits in a perfect location for attracting as much footfall as possible. Directly opposite Windsor Station at the cool end of Chapel Street, and with a tram stop more or less directly outside the front door, it's no wonder this rather lushly decked out cafe cum wine bar pulls in the crowds.
There are a few other reasons too - first of all the wine list is something quite beautiful. Extensive in both its' Australian and international selections, the prices won't sting like a bee either. Though not bargain basement, this is good stuff indeed at much more reasonable prices than some Melbourne establishments that love to rort their customers.
A new toy from the box of Hairy Canary duo, Francisco Valles and Kristine Becker, Dino's looks something like a cross between a gentleman's club, library and Parisian street cafe, this long and luscious venue stretches out leisurely from the street-side seating to a long shared table out back, assuming a well-worn and authentic style belying its actual age. It looks fantastically lush, and serves good, if overpriced food (well, you can save money on the wine). The only real draw back is the staff who at times seem a little too focused on their own gossiping to provide attentive service.
