Dave Grohl has been holed up in a studio with his new super friend, Josh Homme and John Paul Jones.

Editorial

Dave Grohl has been working with Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones on a new project. While there's no name for the collaboration, no release date and precious little else to go on, the three musicians are definitely up to something. That much was confirmed by Homme's wife, Brody Dalle: “I'm not at liberty to talk about it … but I think [the project] is pretty f…ing amazing. Just beats and sounds like you've never heard before”.

Rumours of the trio working together go back as far as 2005, but this is the first time any kind of collaboration has been confirmed. Apparently all three are holed up in a studio somewhere in Los Angeles with a whole lot of junk food and inspiration.

Both Grohl and Homme are known for their collaborations and outside work, so this new project won't exactly shock fans. Grohl has previously worked alongside acts like Nine Inch Nails, Killing Joke, Tenacious D and several others. Homme has been involved with Eagles of Death Metal and collaborated with acts like Death from Above 1979, The Strokes and Peaches. Fact fans will also note that both John Paul Jones and Josh Homme appeared on Foo Fighters's In Your Honour album from 2005.
