You've got to wonder about any mix CD that comes with a large poster of the DJ responsible for the mix, posing half naked. Yes, Havana Brown is attractive, we get it. Does she really need to be wearing a bikini top and large gold chains in the inlay poster? Given this is mix of R&B, pop and hip hop, the obvious answer is yes. Yes, she does.
The actual mix of music is as predictable as you would expect from an urban compilation and you can pretty much guess the acts featured without looking at the back of the CD - Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Pussycat Dolls, 50 Cent and Timbaland have popped up on every 'urban mix' to come out of Universal records in the last year. As for the mixing, we're pretty sure it was done with computer software rather than any actual real-time mixing. So far, so bleh. This compilation's one saving grace is the third and final 'old-school' CD.
Compared to most of the stuff on the market, the old-school track selection is actually pretty good and encompasses everything from Whitney Houston's I'm Every Woman through to Jodeci, TLC, Mary J Blige and more. It just about makes up for how lacklustre the other two CDs are.
