Cosi fan tutte is a simple story about women, men and true love. Translated as “thus do all women” or more loosely: “are women really alike?”, it is a comedy of errors that throws up some of life's important love questions - mostly to do with infidelity, morality and forgiveness.

Laced with sexual intrigue, the opera dishes up something that will appeal to contemporary audiences - despite the fact that it was composed in 1790. (Not so surprising, given it was written by the often decadent Mozart.)

As one of this legendary composer's most famous operas, the “school for lovers” offers a rich score that is both sensual and delicate - sung in English for this Opera Australia production. Director Jim Sharman has chosen a vibrant cast of young Australians: most notably Hye Seoung Kwon, Sian Pendry, Henry Choo and Luke Gabbedy as the young lovers who woo and betray.

If you like a bit of sexual intrigue set to some supremely gorgeous music then look no further than Opera Australia's sumptuous production of Cosi fan tutte.
