Once again, Hobart’s eastern shore hosts a smokin’ hot week of summer jazz. The festival kicks off with a twilight picnic in Simmons Park, Lindisfarne, before moving to beautiful beachside Bellerive Park. In the evenings, kick up your heels at the Jazz Lounge in the 200-year-old barn at historic Rosny Farm, and enjoy gourmet food and wine from Meadowbank Estate winery or Bellerive Boardwalk. All the outdoor events are free; some shows in the Jazz Lounge are ticketed. Charismatic cool cat Dan Barnett, an award-winning singer and trombonist, is returning to Tasmania as festival ambassador – the full lineup is announced in January 2012.
