When the weather gets cold, get into the Christmas spirit and enjoy all of the traditional favourites with a fabulous dinner at RiverBank Estate.

Editorial

It's not certain where and when Christmas in July started. There was a mention in a 19th century opera, a Christmassy event held by a North Carolina girl's summer camp in the 1930s and the term was spread for all to embrace in the 1940 Hollywood's comedy “Christmas in July”. The thing is that it doesn't really matter where Christmas in July started. It's just important to recognise that it's a fantastic idea. So when 24 July hits and you're feeling a little frosty and could do with some cheer (and a few servings of Christmas pudding), you'll be able to embrace the tradition at a special Christmas in July Dinner at RiverBank Estate, specially prepared by executive chef Frederick Kirby.

Just as the cold starts to bite in, RiverBank Estate will welcome you into its cosy restaurant and warm your soul with a cream of roast mushroom and chestnut soup finished with a foie gras foam. An entree of Tasmanian smoked salmon, buttermilk potato scones, pickled red onion, baby caper and lemon vinaigrette will further work to enhance your spirit. And if you're not singing carols then, you won't be able to resist the Christmas fever when a traditional roast turkey and honey glazed ham with a dried fruit and pork stuffing, creamy mash, brussel sprouts, cranberry compote and red wine jus arrives at your table. Then, in the grand Christmas tradition, you can stuff yourself to bursting point with a brandy-soaked steamed Christmas pudding with vanilla anglaise, brandy snap and warm berries. The RiverBank Estate Christmas in July dinner will cost $65 per person. Be sure to book as places sell out fast. For more information or to book, call (08) 9377 1805 or visit Riverbank Estate.
