Sacha Baron Cohen's flamboyantly gay alter-ego, Bruno, made quite an impact on Eminem during the MTV Movie Awards.

Twilight may have won all the awards, but the biggest story to come out of the MTV Movie Awards was the encounter between Eminem and Bruno. Sacha Baron Cohen (the comedian behind Ali G, Borat and the flamboyantly gay, Bruno) entered the awards ceremony (as Bruno) dressed as an angel and floated through the auditorium suspended on wires. Midway through his journey to the stage he collided with a hanging set piece, got caught up in his fly wires and asked to be lowered. The operator obliged and Bruno came down face-first in Eminem's lap.

Eminem wasn't impressed and was heard yelling, “Are you serious? Get the f… off me!" as Bruno's crotch hovered inches from his face. The rapper's entourage promptly disentangled the gay icon and stormed out of the building. Meanwhile, the (still suspended in mid-air) Bruno announced that Zac Efron had won Best Male Performance for High School Musical 3.

While Bruno's 'technical problems' appear to have been staged, the involvement of Eminem and his entourage remains a mystery. Various media sources are saying he was in on the joke with Scott Aukerman, the head comedy writer for the awards show, stating on his blog: "the Bruno/Eminem incident was staged … they rehearsed it at dress and yes, it went as far as it did on the live show". Either way, the incident overshadowed any of the actual awards being handed out on the night.
