Australian Rock Symphony gives Chrissy Amphlett, Diesel and Baby Animals an orchestral makeover.

Editorial

Three of Australia's most iconic rock acts, orchestral backing and a selection of their biggest hits. That's the basic premise behind Australian Rock Symphony, a chance for Chrissy Amphlett, Diesel and Baby Animals to come together for a night of reinterpreted classics. Chrissy Amphlett is best known as one half of the Divinyls. Throughout the '80s and early '90s she enjoyed massive chart success with Science Fiction, Pleasure and Pain and I Touch Myself. Four of the duo's albums went Top 10 in Australia and Amphlett's stage outfits (all fishnets and school uniform) were very popular back in the day.

Diesel got his start in the late '80s, playing guitar for Jimmy Barnes. Securing his own record deal, he enjoyed a string of hits with his band and as a solo act, among them, Crying Shame and Tip of My Tongue. After several years in the US he returned to Australia and has continued to write, release and tour records. Finally, there's Baby Animals. Fronted by the charismatic, Suze DeMarchi, their debut LP is one of the most successful Australian rock albums of all time and is certified eight-times platinum.
