There are nightclubs, and there are nightclubs. If you remember the eighties then you will know that the nightclub du jour back then was cavernous, lots of bling and not lacking in neon lights. While Brisbane still has its fair share of this style of venue, there is also Alloneword, which offers a different style of night out.

The owners set out to make this club an exclusive place that would entice a stylish crowd who don’t want to play with the mainstream. Artistic types, hipsters and those with a taste for cutting edge music are the target market here, and it works.

The look here is a mix of industrial, plush, and modern. There’s plenty of artwork too. To really experience the greatness of Alloneword head to the rooftop bar. Here you can sip a perfectly made cocktail while looking over rooftops.

On the subject of drinks, the bar staff here know what they are doing and mix up some of the best and coolest cocktails in town.

Music-wise, for those serious about their tunes you will love it here. Wednesday’s see JAM night, which is designed for local musos to get together and play. Weekends see a solid mix of some of Brisbane’s best DJ’s.

Alloneword is for the fashion conscious and those who know good things come in smaller packages.
