Alice Cooper: Theatre Of Death Tour
Editorial
Alice Cooper may be best known for draping snakes around himself during concerts and looking kinda scary, but there's a lot more to the man than that. Cooper actually had his first chart hits back in the early '70s, and since then has gone on to shape both the look and sound of heavy metal and rock.
Cooper was originally in a band called Alice Cooper (yes, just like his stage name), and they had a huge hit with 1972's Schools Out. Their Billion Dollar Babies album from the following year made it all the way to number one on the Billboard charts. Cooper then went solo in 1975, and it was during this time that he developed the whole 'shock rock' persona. Basically, he combined elements from horror movies, vaudeville, heavy metal and garage rock to create the Alice Cooper we know today.
Since then, Cooper has enjoyed a string of chart hits and career resurrections. Most famously, he had a huge hit in 1988 with Poison and the accompanying album, Trash. All up, he's released a staggering 25 albums, of which he's sold countless millions. In other words, he's earned the right to spend his days on the golf course and tour whenever he feels like it.
