Established in 1871 and long considered to be one of the world’s most beautiful cricket ovals, this is a place steeped in history. In 1931/32 The Don batted the highest score ever at the ground in Test Cricket - 299 against South Africa; and in the same game, Clarrie Grimmet collected the most ever wickets (14) in a test match by a bowler. Stroll onto the ground, listen hard enough and you can still hear the crowd cheering.
