For AC/DC, the Highway to Hell was littered with all manner of memorabilia - but luckily they've all been collected, dusted off, and assembled as a new exhibition at the Arts Centre Gallery.

The Arts Centre has been presenting some pretty interesting and diverse exhibitions of costumes and memorabilia as part of their Icon Exhibition series, from Kylie Minogue and Dame Edna to Nick Cave and Peter Allen, and adding to that list for the first time, is AC/DC Australia's Family Jewels.

No introduction is needed for AC/DC. They formed in the early 1970s, and have sold over 200 million albums internationally. They have a Melbourne laneway named after them, and to prove that rock gods never dies, they're currently on a worldwide tour.

Naturally, the exhibition covers the iconic Aussie rock band's 35-year history, and includes memorabilia never seen before. Costumes such as Angus Young's 'Super-Ang' and his schoolboy outfit and Bon Scott's leather jacket, are major features. But there's also some of their original musical instruments, stage props, letters, notebooks and lyrics - and some rarely seen live footage as well to see the boys doing what they do best.

Presented in conjunction with AC/DC, Albert Music and Sony Music, this is one rock exhibition you won't want to miss.

Anyone who is even "slighly" interested in this, please go and see it. I took 2 hours to properly digest all the memorabelia. Burp... It's free, it's a reminder of Aussie history, prompting memories and an awareness of where we are in music today. Display finishes this weekend (28th)
